The springs are made from the best spring wire available and carefully finished to make sure that they will not over ride themselves or the flanges they ride on.  The Lakeline springs rates are also optimized and provide a smoother recoil pulse than the factory parts while still shooting all standard rounds reliably.  You don't have to select a light spring, that doesn't tolerate heavy loads, nor a heavy spring, that may not cycle regular range ammo with the Lakeline recoil assembly.  By optimizing the spring rates, choosing spring material that doesn't weaken under use as much as typical and using better spring and sleeve lengths, this recoil assembly provides lighter recoil with range ammo all the way to +P rounds.

Drop in installation.  Unload your pistol, visually confirm it is unloaded. Field strip the slide off of the frame, remove the backplate and pull out the striker assembly, replace it with the new assembly.  Reinstall backplate and put the slide back onto the frame. See additonal notes below.
 
Additonal background on the SureFire Striker Assembly:
In the stock trigger you can feel the uneven and nonlinear pull just before the trigger releases.  Replacing plastic stock striker components with precision CNC machined and polished stainless steel gives a consistent, low friction trigger pull.
 
The Lakeline Firing Pin is precison machined and uses the high performance precipitation hardened stainless steel that is electro-polished.  This firing pin is hard nosed and will give you lasting, impact strikes.
 
Some companies aggressively market titanium parts for firearms in the name of weight savings and there are application where that significantly higher cost makes sense. The Lakeline SureFire Stainless Steel Firing Pin weighs less than 0.2 oz, about the weight of 2 pennies; we don't think doubling the price of the firing pin is worth making it weigh 1 1/2 pennies. Titanium also readily deforms and has low elasticity compared to stainless - which means you will have to replace it more often. We prioritize high quality performance at a reasonable price.

Because PT111-G2 and PT140-G2 may require fitting of the Taurus Security System cam to install this part, we recommend installation only by a qualified gunsmith.  This product also disables the Taurus Security System lock when installed on a pistol if the pistol is so equipped.

    It only took a few minutes to install this kit. I could immediately tell a difference. The rack was smoother and the trigger was improved. I stepped out my backdoor to my range and fired 5 rounds of Winchester 115gr fmj and I could tell a difference in the recoil and trigger. Much nicer. I shot 25 rounds of 115gr fmj and then 10 rounds of 115gr gold dot. I checked the GX4 and found that the black end screw on the recoil guide rod had backed out quite a bit. That's the reason for 4 stars. Simple fix with a little blue loctite though. Shot 50 rounds 115gr fmj the next day and 10 rounds of 124gr +p HST. No problems. I was surprised at how smooth those HST rounds shot. I usually feed them to my larger pistols. HST might be my carry round for this pistol now. I also have installed the Lakeline compensated barrel and TFO sights. Pretty accurate quick follow up shots now out of this micro 9.

    Quality replacement parts for GX4

    These are quality replacement parts for the GX4. I haven't had any issues with the OEM parts but it does help with peace of mind in replacing the plastic striker sleeve (all other parts were metal). In terms of feel, the recoil spring does feel like it helps with the snappiness. CAUTION: You'll want to loctite the recoil spring screw as I found it starting to back out after only 50 rounds.

    Since new my Taurus GX4 suffered from light primer strikes with certain ammo. Even after cleaning the striker channel I still had light strikes. Next problem was a grinding noise which I suspected to be the stock recoil spring. While I have not fired the pistol yet with the new striker system, I am certain it will solve the light primer strikes. The steel firing pin replaced the stock titanium pin. I’ve swapped out titanium with steel in other pistols with the expected results so I have no doubt that problem will be solved. The Lakeside recoil spring completely eliminated any type of noice. It is smooth and consistent. I would also like to highlight the Lakeside customer service. As a new customer I was very impressed with the email communication provided and the tracking system which continually updated.
