Description

Fiber Optic sight set (front and rear) for your Taurus G3, G2C, G2S, PT111 G2, PT140 G2, PT709, PT740, and TX22. The sights come with 3 fiber optic rods in green, red and orange so you can use any combination of color that you prefer.  They are machined from tough aircraft grade Aluminum Alloy and hard anodized and provide outstanding contrast in daylight.

With a flat surface on the front of the rear sight, these sights allow one-handed charging of the pistol action.

They are both held in with screws and no sight pusher is used in the installation.  The tools needed include drivers to remove the existing sights, a small Phillips head screw driver, thread locker, nail clippers or a side cutter, and a lighter to install the fibers into the sights.  Expect minor fitting  of both sights to be required (For example- filing using needle files or similar) because they are made to the largest dovetail size so a tight fit can be had on any pistol.  Yes, dovetails vary.

The sight set comes with new screws for the front sight and rear sights.  The rear sight is adjustable for windage when mounting.

Front screw – M2.5 X .45 X 2.5            Rear screw – M2.5 X .45 X 4

I’m very happy with the fiber optic sight set. Very easy to install and a massive improvement over the stock sights that came on my Taurus G2C. Here’s a tip, ***if you have a hard time removing the stock Allen head screw for the original factory front sight and strip it out as I did, take some pliers and just destroy the front sight until it pulls off the screw and the screw will simply fall out. Ready to install the new sight in no time. In fact if I were to install another set of these I wouldn’t even bother to unscrew the stock screw on the front sight, just wiggle back and fourth with pliers and rip it off. Easy to do and didn’t scratch my gun. Throwing that front sight in the trash anyway! The fiber optic rods melt and bead up quickly with very little material exposed, more than just a 1/16 inch and your dot will be larger than the frame of the sight. I intentionally made my front red and a little larger. Went with green for rear sight and stayed a bit smaller on the bead

    Excellent product and easy installation.
First time installing any sights on a pistol and had no problems.

Fully agree with a previous review. These sights are a BIG upgrade over the stock sights on my Taurus G2c.
Had to do a bit of fitting on the front sight in order to get it to set flush with the slide, but overall the installation was easy. A little hint when installing the fiber optic rods. Leave the rod full length with about 1/4″ projecting beyond the angled end of the sight and begin heating the rod while rotating it. Once the end begins to “mushroom” pull the rod lightly into the end of the sight. The rod conforms very nicely to the shape of the sight. Clip off the other end leaving about a 1/16″ and hold the other end of the rod tight to the sight while heating it. The ends come out very nice and consistent.

    Great improvement over factory sights
I got these for the green fiber optics, thats what I see best
one rod was slightly damaged & Lakeline sent replacement the next day
had to slightly needle file front sight ever so slightly to fight
the rear sight was a perfect fit
like the reviewer above I kept the ends at 1/16 before melting on the focus side & 1/8 on the side Ill never see
I feel it gives a finer sight dot picture
I just wish these were designed to re-use the factory screw on my taurus G3 but after talking with the owner I understand why

worthy upgrade, Im getting the G3 ss recoil rod assembly &striker guide later on as funds allow

I’m super annoyed that I has to put in more than a little work to make these fit. Instructions in black and white pictures. Once on they look great.

We do make the sights slightly large so they can be fit tightly to each, individual pistol. The dovetails in the pistols vary, and if the sights are loose, they won’t stay on and on point of aim. Thanks.

Very easy to install. Great looking and reasonably priced sights for a inexpensive gun. I have looked at different sight packages.. 2… 3.. 4 times as expensive.. Great looking on the G2C. Lakeline has quality upgrades with very easy install directions. I recommend them to help you feel better about your personal protection weapon

super fast shipping and a great sight kit. Very well made and easy to install. Makes a huge difference over the poor factory sights. Love these fiber optic sights.

  9. Brian Hunt (verified owner)

Was hoping for better I guess. The front sight doesn’t fit the oval hole. Will need to get a super small file and do some filling I guess.

    Brian,

That’s how the sight is designed. If it slipped right in, it would have some play in the hole. That would allow movement that would cause the sight to come off the pistol with use. That’s why we say the sights “require fitting.” They are made a little large so a perfect, tight fit can be obtained with every pistol.

For the price these look to be good. Have to slightly file front sight. The front shorter screw sticks up a hair & keeps fiber from going through. Had to back it out then put in fiber rod then tighten. Once you require reading glasses this is the way to go. Bought on a weekend had it on Wednesday.
