Nothing brings the focus to the front sight quite like a serrated, blacked out, rear sight.  It is almost invisible to the eye taking your focus to the front sights.  The U-channel rear sight quickly and intuitively helps they eye align the front sight to the target.  Your eye focuses on the plane with the front sight.
 
This is nothing fancy. While your kids won't fight over it when you die, you can trust that this part is tough and it is effective. A set screw is included. Windage can be adjusted during mounting, elevation is fixed.  Some fitting can be required by light filing of the sight. It is recommended that the fit be very tight to aid holding zero. Our installation of these sights on the Lakeline Optics Ready Slides found they could be hand installed on the Aluminium TX22 anodized slides, but the Cerakoted slides required either filing or a sight pusher tool. We recommend the sight pusher as tight is good thing.

    It's a perfect fit but I thought it was steel. Will work for the time being and not expensive. Great product overall. I'm a fan of U notch..so will purchase again if I need to

    i really like this sight, i bought it to compliment an ameriglo front sight i got from taurus' websight, although i didn't realize that when i was setting the set screw, i was warping and bowing the rear sight not realizing that it had bottomed out already. i was only using my finger tips, which surprised me how easy it was to start damaging the sight. other than that, i love the sight. just wish it was a little tougher, if not outright steel. Lakeline: Yes, we have this in metal(aluminum), but it is not $8.

    The only negative thing I can say is the edges are a little rough. I hit mine with some 2000 grit, very lightly and it took care of it... That being said if your gonna use a aftermarket front sight the u-channel makes a big difference.
