Ditch the Plastic!!! The Bodyguard 2.0 guide rod and end screw are each machined IN THE USA from 17-4 stainless steel. The spring is high performance chrome-silicon alloy ASTM A401 flat wire spring steel, the toughest material available for this application.
The Lakeline Recoil is a significant upgrade over the factory and other aftermarket spring. Our engineering approach prioritized performance and reliability:
- Rigidity and Consistency: the Lakeline Stainless "extra beef" guide rod removes flex in factory recoil assembly
- Reliability: our extensive testing of the Bodyguard 2.0 found fatigue stress in the stock rod butt and sleeve head and spring overload. Our proprietary design eliminates these weaknesses.
- Performance: our analysis found spring loads too close to material stress limits. The Lakeline Recoil Assembly is +10%OEM spring rate - with the added benefit of dampened recoil and faster follow on shots.

FINISHES. Metal parts that rub together or make contact with other metal parts will get visibly marked, scratched, or burnished. Even very hard finishes like Cerakote will wear and that will be visible. Stainless parts will also get scratched, burnished, and show where they rub and touch other parts. This is normal and is not a defect.
