Description

Recoil Assembly for the Taurus PT111-G2 pistol that includes:

  • Completely assembled recoil assembly

Lakeline Stainless Steel Guide rods have a reputation for being tough, really tough!  The Lakeline Recoil assembly is designed to be the last recoil assembly your Taurus PT111 G2 will ever need.  It is designed to be maintainable so springs can be changed if or when they eventually wear out.  This is NOT a throw away that must be replaced when it needs new springs.  Spare springs are readily available for the Lakeline recoil assembly.  Now fully assembled!  Just field strip your pistol, lube it, and put it in.

With thousands of these in use, these recoil assemblies have been proven for tens of thousands of rounds.  There is simply no more reliable recoil assembly for the PT111 G2.  No plastic, or thin drawn parts!  The recoil rod is a single piece with the flange,  the most highly stressed part, machined as one piece with the Guide Rod.  If your pistol is jammed from a failed factory or competitor’s recoil assembly email our customer support to get instructions on how to get your pistol back apart.

We also machine the stainless recoil sleeve from another piece of stainless steel and it is stronger and harder than the factory drawn steel part.  It is full length, the same sleeve length and spring sizes as the factory part.  Its flange will not break off, allowing the outer spring to jump off and jam the action of your pistol.  Our guide rod is engineered so the highly stressed end, the end that contacts the barrel, is a solid piece of stainless steel. Finally, our Machined Stainless Steel End Screw in Black Oxide finishes the assembly and provides a custom look that fits in perfectly with black or stainless finished slides on your PT111-G2.  Unlike the factory part, the screw is on the muzzle end and is under no stress when the pistol is assembled, as is best practice.  If you prefer a stainless finish, we have a version with a stainless finish as well.

The springs are made from the best spring wire available, and precisely finished to make sure that they will not over ride themselves or the flanges they ride on.  The Lakeline springs rates are also optimized and provide a smoother recoil pulse than the factory parts while still shooting all standard rounds reliably.   Careful testing and optimization was done for the PT11 G2.  You don’t have to select a light spring, that doesn’t tolerate heavy loads, nor a heavy spring, that may not cycle regular range ammo with the Lakeline recoil assembly.  By optimizing the spring rates, choosing spring material that doesn’t weaken under use as much as typical and using better spring and sleeve lengths, this recoil assembly provides improved, lighter recoil with range ammo all the way to +P rounds.

Replacing springs on a Lakeline recoil set is easy.  Reversing where the threaded end of the guide rod is from the factory makes assembly and spring changes simple.  It also makes the guide rod solid stainless steel where the stress is the highest while having the screw with no load on it after installation.  The harder to hold onto end has flats machined in so an open end wrench can be used to hold it.  That approach makes the recoil assembly maintainable and keeps it from being a throwaway when the recoil springs eventually wear out.

Seeing the OEM guiderods as a possible weak link, (check the internet) I ordered 2 of these for my pistols. The components are high quality and easy to install. I’ve run about 100 rounds through one plus a BUG match competition and fewer through the second. They’ve performed flawlessly. The bonus for buyers now is the spare spring set that wasn’t offered earlier this year. The other potential weakness is the sights so that’s next on the list. Nice products at a fair price and fast shipping.

Great replacement to the plastic guide rod that came with the pt111. Haven’t taken it to the range yet,but I can tell the difference by racking the slide. I highly recommend this.

My son in law bought a used Taurus pt111 g2 and he had problems with jams. it was stove piping so I took a look at it and noticed the spring assembly was loose. it had a little play in it so I ordered this replacement. The gun now shoots just fine. It looked like the old rod was a little bent from use. This New Stainless version is noticeably stronger than the original version. Save the old spring in case you have to send the gun in for warranty work. I’m now buying a second one for a spare or I’ll just upgrade. Definite recommend buy.

This affordable upgrade turned my budget pistol into a quality firearm! Before I bought this kit, I could feel the round snagging as it chambered. Now it is crisp and flawless when I chamber a round. It also cleared up the random “Failure to Feed” issues I was having. I love this kit and recommend it to every Taurus PT111 owner I know!
